M7 Part 2

As she expected, it was quite a conversation about food the closer she got to the cafe. She came to hover in front of the cafe and entered with some difficulty. Inside, her senses were blasted with all the chatter. It was certainly busy inside. Her wings faltered slightly and she bumped into some pokemon's head. It growled at her, but she ignored it and flew a little bit higher. She started toward where it sounded like things were being prepared.

“Are you another merchant come to help?” an unfamiliar voice asked.

“Y-yeah. Are you Hopps?” Xaren replied.

“Yeah, I'm Hopps. And your blind. Okay, I'll find you something ta do... Uh, come sit on this counter for me,” the voice said.

Xaren slightly fumed over the fact of her blindness being mentioned. She plopped down on the counter and folded her wings in. She winced at first, but she felt a strange sense of pride as her bandana brushed against the fur on her side.

“Okay, let's see what I can get you to do...” Hopps said with a sense of thought intruding his voice.

“Yo, Hopps! I need another berry juice!” a voice called through the crowd.

“Ah, I know what you can do for me, Zubat! You can pass drinks I set on the counter over to Lilly. Hey,
Lilly, this Zubat's here to help!” Hopps shouted back to the voice in the crowd.

Xaren suddenly felt a cold glass bump her stomach and slowly slid it toward the other side of the counter. The glass disappeared from her wings and the 'mon she guessed was Lilly was gone.

“Hi, I don't think I've ever seen you around,” a sweet voice said in Xaren's ear.

Xaren turned to face it, though it didn't matter without any sight.

“Uh, yeah... I'm Xaren. I arrived about a week ago,” she explained.

“I'm Mimosa, and I'm a Misdreavus. I can help you if I need it,” the other pokemon offered.

“I don't think that will be necessary...”

“Watch out!”

Xaren felt a cold glass moving toward her back, but it suddenly disappeared. She felt the glass pass over her ear and realized Mimosa must have picked it up with her psychic powers.

“Here's another drink, Lilly!” Mimosa called.

The more cups Hopps passed to Xaren, the more it became easy and fluent. She soon found herself passing cups to Lilly with ease. The more practice she had, the more she realized where things were. It was so easy.

“I still haven't gotten my meal!” a small voice screeched over the crowd, followed by the sound of something breaking.

“Shut that stupid child up!” a rough, furious voice snarled.

“Don't you dare call my child stupid!” a feminine voice replied.

“Oh, no!” Hopps cried.

Xaren gritted her fangs and took flight. “Shut up, all of you! You'll get your orders in due time, just shut up! And pay for that broken glass, Sandslash!”

A surprised silence fell over the cafe. Xaren didn't care. She just floated back down to her perch on the counter and continued with her work.

Mission complete about helping Hopps in the cafe, but not so much about keeping the guests happy. Xaren's too fierce for such a job XD
